The Pit Of Despair

She tried to do normal, but it was hard. It stung, it itched, it irritated the very crevices of her soul. She didn't fit in, she had no qualms admitting that. She was lost, miserable, drowning in self pity. Everything about the mundanity of everyday life overwhelmed her. She was done bending over backwards to meet the needs of others. Her back was broken. She didn't know what to do to escape the pain. She longed for a familiarity she had only ever found in one place. She had tried to find it elsewhere but never could. She didn't really want to, but she didn't feel like she had much of a choice, She quietly climbed back into her pit of despair. It was where she felt safe. It was cold and damp and lonely and quite a few sizes too small. In fact it choked her a little but…

How To Overcome Procrastination AKA Overwhelm

I've been known to sit and procrastinate for days. Then I realise that the reasons for my doing so are based in fear and overwhelm. So many things to do & worry about, So many rules to follow. Our fears keep us stuck inside our comfort zone where its safe, warm and comfortable. This is where many of us stay for our whole lives. Never daring to venture beyond the walls we've built for ourselves. (Yes, we built them ourselves...) The sooner you step outside…

How About You Love, Honour and Cherish Yourself?

Love, Honour and Cherish Yourself. Do you know who you are? Do you know how worthy of love you are? What have you done for you lately? I think the world is lacking in people who love, honour and cherish themselves. Let's be the next ones who decide to join them. I think it was Socrates that said above all else we should know ourselves. But I'd take it one step further and say our first lesson in life should be to love our selves fully and wholly. When we love, honour and cherish ourselves we accept ourselves fully and no amount of rejection and humiliation can make a big enough dent in our self-esteem to bring us down. We don't need external approval or validation. We know that everyone is behaving based on their level of education and experience in the world.   Don't give to anybody else what…
