Identify What Holds You Back.

Are you struggling to work towards your true goals and to discover your mission and purpose? Perhaps you’re spending too much time prioritising other peoples priorities? It could be time to identify what holds you back. well at least some of it.

Discover True Freedom.

We can spend so much of our lives overwhelmed and consumed that we rarely get any peace. All the things we have put into our lives makes sure of this and we can’t see what’s causing it because we are so busy trying to stay on top of it all. Trying to keep too many balls in the air can drive you to insanity. Your mental health is worth far more than trying so hard to conform to too many requirements and expectations. To discover true freedom to design and live the life you choose, you must take stock of what is truly important to you.

Why You Must Identify What Holds You Back.

If you want to create and live a life of your own design, you must identify the barriers. Once you identify what holds you back you can start learning and practicing new ways to be. Letting go of what no longer serves or supports your hopes, dreams and desires is the first step towards a more healthy, relaxed purpose-driven life. Sounds pretty good, right?  Here are a few things that I’ve noticed have kept me stuck on the hamster wheel of overwhelm. We can’t expect to change everything all at once. It’s a gradual process but recognising where the problems are is the first step. When I’m more mindful at noticing and paying attention to these things I feel so much lighter and ready for real expansion.

Unrealistic Expectations.

If you’re striving for the unattainable, it can seem like you’re fighting a losing battle. Sometimes it can help to stop and take stock of how necessary or realistic your task is. Is it truly necessary for the task to be completed? Do you have to be the person to complete the task or can it be delegated? You don’t need to spend your life in struggle.

Toxicity.

Toxic thoughts, toxic habits, toxic relationships etc. If you have relationships that bring you down or you put chemical laden things into your body or environment, the simple act of being more mindful and choosing more carefully could do wonders for your energy and health

Check the foods you put into your body, if you don’t recognize the ingredients, then they probably don’t belong in your body. The same goes for your cleaning and hygiene products. There are a few real nasties to look out for in particular, which I will outline in another post, but as a general rule the more ingredients a product has, the move I would tend to give it a miss.

Poor Thoughts and Habits.

The things you think can keep you trapped in a cycle that will never contribute to peace and freedom. Negative thoughts can spiral if you leave them unchecked. Becoming mindful of your patterns of thought can give you the opportunity to change them to something more positive which can take you closer to peace before you know it. Make sure that you’re not putting up with any “friends” who consistently and deliberately bring you down. You deserve better.

Your habits pretty much control your life, check them regularly for any that bring you down. Excess, addiction, over/under compensation and sacrifice can be equally as dangerous as each other. To keep your habits healthy, perhaps create yourself a few miracle routines to assist you on your journey.

The Need to Be in Control.

Another thing to be mindful of is how your need to be in control actually controls you more than it controls anything else. Your life can be more peaceful if you learn to let go, delegate .and go with the flow more often. You don’t have to control everything for it to go well. Some things can be left undone without any significant impact. Everybody doesn’t have to come around to your way of thinking/doing/being. Everything is unfolding at the right time and pace. Relax, let go, breathe.

Clutter.

All the things you have accumulated over the years, own and control you more than you own and control them. Each belonging takes up a tiny piece of your brainspace and fights for attention for as long as you keep it in your possession. They need cleaning, they need reading, they need playing or sorting or folding or appreciating. Urgh… sounds exhausting just reading about it, doesn’t it?

So it stands to reason that the less things we own the less things we have less to think about. A cluttered space equals a cluttered mind. Go on ditch the stuff. If you think you can’t get rid of things at least have an organisation system so everything has a space where it’s easy to find and put away. I promise you, the more you decide to get rid of, the more liberated you will feel.

So, what else? Have a sit with yourself. Identify what holds you back today and liberate yourself. Free your space, free your heart, free your mind, free your soul. I believe in you.

Don’t forget to let me know your thoughts below. Love to hear from you.
